Marc Hirten is President, Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd. He was appointed to his current position on November 1, 2017 where he oversees all sales, marketing, operations, finance, supplier and distributor relations as well as Wildman’s dedicated wholesale division.
Previously, Mr. Hirten served as General Manager of Commercial Strategy, William Grant & Sons, New York. Additionally, Mr. Hirten held positions with Moët-Hennessy and Diageo that have spanned across general management, strategy, sales and marketing. Using his myriad skills, Mr. Hirten is focused on transforming the business and strengthening the company’s already outstanding portfolio.
Mr. Hirten resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife, Lisa, of 32 years and they are the parents of two adult children. He is a California native and spent many years in San Francisco and Napa Valley. He graduated from Santa Clara University with an Economics degree. Mr. Hirten enjoys music, the beach, boating, fishing and playing paddle tennis.
Derek Blackburn is the Senior Vice President of Marketing, having been appointed to this position on March 26, 2018. Derek oversees all of the strategic and marketing planning for the entire wine and spirits portfolio, working closely with a team of professionals in Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, PR/Events, Digital Marketing and Creative Services. Before joining Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd., Derek was a Senior Vice President at BMC Strategic Associates, a leading beverage-related management consulting company. Derek led major projects aimed at identifying key strategic issues, such as marketing and competitive assessment, consumer and shopper insights, brand building and business transformation. Prior to BMCSA, Derek spent time in the Wine and Spirits industry with Diageo as SVP and GM in the U.S. as well as Canada. Before Diageo, Derek worked at Colgate-Palmolive in Marketing, Trade Marketing and Sales.
Mr. Blackburn resides in Westport, CT with his wife, Sandy, and has two married daughters who live in NYC. In his spare time, he is an avid cyclist and runner, having competed in many road races and Duathlons.
Ms. Prokop joined Frederick Wildman & Sons in November 12, 2018. Ms. Prokop brings a decade of direct industry experience to her role, having served as director of revenue management at William Grant & Sons, finance director for Disaronno USA and in several commercial finance positions with Remy Cointreau USA.
At Frederick Wildman, Ms. Prokop focuses on commercial management and business transformation and will build long-term sustainable growth and value across the company’s portfolio. Prokop is a proud member of Women of the Vines and Spirits and a veteran of the U.S. Army, First Calvary Division. She has held multiple professional finance roles before joining the wine and spirits industry, including with Fortune 500 brand Ford Motor Company.
Ms. Prokop lives with her husband in Manhattan and enjoys reading science fiction novels when she’s not traveling.
Vincent Renault joined Frederick Wildman & Sons on January 4, 2016 and is the Vice President of Operations. In his role, he leads a team that manages Demand Planning, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Compliance and Customer Service for the National and Wholesale divisions. Spearheading the sales and operations planning process, his mission is to deliver best-in-class service to all stakeholders.
Before joining Frederick Wildman & Sons, Mr. Renault ran the Operations for the leading South African and French wine importer Cape Classics, co-founded New York-based wine importer and distributor Cognac One, held sales and marketing roles and lead the US subsidiary of wine & spirits freight forwarder AMC.
Mr. Renault resides in Larchmont, New York with his wife, Eglantine, and their two sons. He was born in Cognac, France and moved to New York in 2001 after graduating from Toulouse Business School with a Master in Management. He also holds a Level 3 Award in Wines from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Mr. Renault enjoys running and participating in various activities with his children.
Nicholas B. Shoults joined Frederick Wildman & Sons on June 10th, 2019 as our new Senior Vice President of Sales. In this role, he leads the National Sales Team that is responsible for the Distributor Management of our broad portfolio while also managing the newly created Off and On-Premise Chain Team that will be managing over 200 Strategic partners across the USA.
Before joining Frederick Wildman & Sons, Mr. Shoults ran the National On and Off Premise Sales Teams for Banfi Vintners for over 11 years. Prior to joining Banfi, Mr. Shoults, in his 30-year career, has a well-rounded background in professional roles with Category, Distributor and Chain Management with leading companies such as Great Brands of Europe, Pepperidge Farm and Constellation Wines.
Mr. Shoults resides in Jacksonville, FL with his wife Kirsten and their twin daughters Samantha and Stephanie. He enjoys watching the great game of Hockey, playing a little golf and spending time with his family when he is not travelling.
