Olivier Leflaive - Rully 1er Cru Les Cloux 2017
Maison Olivier Leflaive takes great pride in the quality and value of their selections from the Côte Chalonnaise. These villages are situated to the south of the Côte de Beaune and represent a lighter, more fruit driven style of Chardonnay. Olivier Leflaive produces several cuvées from the villages of Montagny and Rully.
Terroir: The village of Rully contains 23 1er Cru vineyards each of which is ideal for Chardonnay. The Les Cloux vineyard sits on a hillside above the village with a southeast exposure. Soil is a mixture of clay and limestone.
Vinification: In an effort to increase the quality of the final blend, Olivier Leflaive vinifies each parcel separately. Each wine is aged on its lees for 6-7 months in not more than 15% new oak. Following their time in barrel the wine is blended and aged for an additional 9 months in stainless steel. During this time the wine is fined and lightly filtered before bottling.

"Offering up notes of white peach, spring flowers and pastry cream, the 2017 Rully 1er Cru Les Cloux is medium to full-bodied, open-knit and fleshy, with moderate concentration and a ripe core of fruit, concluding with a chalky finish."
