Olivier Leflaive - Meursault Les Narvaux 2016
The village of Meursault is an important appellation for Maison Olivier Leflaive as it is the home of chief winemaker Franck Grux. The Maison typically produces up to 10 cuvées including Premiere Crus; Perrières, Charmes, Genevrières, Poruzots and Narvaux.
Terroir: Les Narvaux sits on the upper slopes of the hillside directly above Les Genevrières. Because of it's steeper grade the soils are shallow, pour and primarily stones giving Narvaux a rich mineral, age worthy style. The overall vineyard is approximately 33 acres. Olivier Leflaive considers this one of the top AOC's of Meursault.
Vinification: The parcels are hand harvested and undergo alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel. The Maison restricts the use of new oak to just 25% to retain vineyard character. The wines see on average 12-15 months in barrel before a gentle fining, blending and finally bottling.
Additional Details editPower combines with finesse and silky tannins. In the mouth the wine is pure, complex with a long finish. A wine with a great aging capacity.

"Baking spice and peach notes are tinged by honey accents in this round, fresh version. A lemon aftertaste lingers, along with spice hints and lively acidity. Drink now through 2024."
