Olivier Leflaive - Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos D’âne (Monopole) 2019

Terroir: Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d'Âne is located next to Meursault Perrières Dessus, on the territory of Blagny. The sloping terroir is on a fat, marly and stony soil, which gives the flint mineral flavor to the wine. The vine happens to suffer from dryness in summer. It is a former Domaine Leflaive property.

Vinification The parcels are hand harvested and undergo alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel. The Maison restricts the use of new oak to just 25% to retain vineyard character. The wines see on average 12 months in barrel before a gentle fining, blending and finally bottling. The wine will rest in bottle for 15-18 months prior to release.
