Olivier Leflaive - Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Lechet 2013
Overview
Originally named "Grand Costes de Milly" the Côte de Léchet vineyard is a 92 acres Leux-dits within the heart of Chablis.
Terroir: The source for the Leflaive Côte de Léchet comes from an extraordinarily steep portion of the vineyard with slopes as steep at 38%. This location is ideal as the vines receive full sun. The soil drains quickly and is made up primarily of small pebbles which result in very low yields.
Vinification: Because of the unique terroir of the vineyard the vines typically yield grapes of great ripeness and concentration. The wine is aged entirely in stainless steel.
This is a powerful Chablis with great ripeness that exhibits the floral character of Chardonnay and the purity and high-toned acidity of Chablis.
