Bourgogne Aligoté (Recolte du Domaine) 2017

Olivier Leflaive

Olivier Leflaive’s Aligoté is sourced from domaine vineyards in Meursault and behind the tiny village of Corpeau, just south of Puligny Montrachet. Vines average 30 years old in soils of clay and limestone.

Vinification: The domaine’s Aligots is made with low yielding, old vines, vinified and aged in 100% stainless steel. Racy acidity makes this perfect as an aperitif, enjoyed with shellfish or made into the famous Kir cocktail.

Additional Information

A touch of butter, notes of cut hay and minerality. A delectable and gourmet wine with fatness on the palate.

"Produced from old vines, this wine shows the fresh, crisp texture of Burgundy's second white grape. It is lightly perfumed and very fresh, dripping with crisp citrus and brightly ready to drink."

"The 2017 Bourgogne Aligoté is a touch reduced out of the gates, but it opens up nicely in the glass with aromas of crisp green apples and citrus oil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, delicately glossy and incisive, with a tight-knit core and a racy spine of acidity. While received wisdom is to drink Aligoté young, this is quite a structured effort, and since it's bottled under Diam 10, I would be very much inclined to forget it in the cellar for a year or two."
