Michel Torino’s Coleccion range of wines expresses a prominent, “fruit forward” style, with pure varietal character and vineyard typicity. The goal is to produce elegant and complex wines for their category.
Terroir: Each of the Coleccion range are sourced from entirely estate owned vineyards throughout the Cafayate Valley. Vineyards sit at elevations well above 3,000 feet with many sitting above 5,000 feet. The power of the sun at these elevations combined with very little moisture or pests leads to wines of unique purity and concentration.
Vinification: Each wine in the Coleccion range presents the true character of the varietal. The wines are produced in a young, juicy style with minimal oak influence and just 5 months of aging in the cellar prior to bottling and release.
The rosé is produced following a short contact of the juice with the skins, then the liquid is run off after it has acquired its pink color. Fermentation begins and the rest of vinification follows that utilized for white wines.
Michel Torino Malbec Rosé shows assertive aromas of roses, honey, and crushed cherries with notes of spice and rosemary. On the palate, there is crisp, ripe strawberry fruit with bubblegum and white pepper notes on the finish. A great match with lighter summer dishes.
