Hewitson - Miss Harry Chardonnay 2016

Overview

Miss Harry is named after Chief Winemaker Dean Hewitson’s daughter Harriet. Hewitson believes great wines are the expression of the soils they are grown in and in the seasons they grow. Through knowledge and experience they strive for balance, structure, concentration, power and breeding.

Terroir: Sourced from Barossa's Golden Mile vineyard with deep loam and limestone soils. Vines average 35+ years old.

Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested and immediately crushed and pressed. The juice is fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is halted prior to malo-lactic fermentation. The wines rest briefly in tank and are bottled.

Additional Details edit

Bright, pale green with washed straw hints. Mouth-watering aromas of fresh apple and white peach with floral overtones. Intense citrus with a tight acid spine and lingering notes of baked pears.

Pale yellow-gold. Spice-accented pear and peach nectar scents, along with tangerine and smoky mineral flourishes. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering juicy orchard and pit fruit flavors along with hints of fennel and sweet butter. Shows very good focus and energy on the finish, which leaves a hint of candied orange peel behind.
