Lu Lu Shiraz 2018

Hewitson

Terroir: The Hewitson LuLu Shiraz vineyard is superbly situated close to the coast. It brings cool climate elegance to Australia’s premier variety. Soils are an ancient seabed made up primarily of sandy loam and limestone.

Vinification: Grapes are hand- harvested in the cool, pre-dawn hours. The grapes are crushed and demstemmed followed by a three week maceration on the skins at cool temperatures. The young wines are aged briefly in temperature stainless steel tanks and bottled.

Planting system: vertical shoot positioning; canopy management
Farming: Limited irrigation from dam; no herbicides

Additional Information

Classic cooler climate aromas of red fruits, pepper and spice. Fresh seamless palate of succulent cherries and forest floor fruits. Fine tannins and a creamy texture compliment the lingering fresh berry flavors.

"From parcels at both ends of the Barossa, this is blended and selected for a cooler, lighter style. This has deep, dark-berry aromas and flavors as well as plenty of tarry dark plums. Smooth. Plenty of flavorful punch here."
