Faugères 2012

Hecht & Bannier

Terroir: Faugères is a small appellation located on the somewhat inland on the Mediterranean coast to the west of Montpelier and Nimes.

Vinification: This blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan is vinified in a combination of 10% tank, 30% large nuetral oak casks and 60% oak barrels. 30% of the oak is new.

Additional Information

“Grenache and Mourvèdre proportion is naturally raised in our blend for a very demonstrative wine throughout the whole ageing period. The silky Grenache shrouds the natural strength and tannic structure of the Mourvèdre just like an iron fist in a velvet glove …”-Gregory Hecht

"Concentrated and muscular, this red is packed with ripe black currant, blackberry tart and ganache flavors. Licorice and incense aromas add a rich touch. Chewy tannins grace the long, spice- and herb-infused finish. Syrah, Mourvdre and Carignan. Drink now through 2020."
