Edinburgh Gin Distillery’s trio of Fruit Gin Liqueurs—Raspberry, Elderflower, and Rhubarb & Ginger, each 20% ABV/40 proof, in 750 ml. bottles—are infused with native fruits farmed in Scotland. Their base spirit is Edinburgh Gin—which is distilled via two methods, in a pot still named ‘Caledonia’ and a column still called ‘Flora—that is itself a blend of 13 classic botanicals, including juniper berries, citrus peel and coriander seed.
The Edinburgh Elderflower Gin Liqueur has distinctive floral aromas and flavors that marry beautifully with gin botanicals. The summer’s elderflowers are handpicked in full bloom and then infused with the distillery’s classic Edinburgh Gin. The flowers are then left to macerate for a month for full flavor extraction.
This is a delicately balanced liqueur made using elderflowers and finished with a hint of lemon juice for a clean floral nose with hints of pear, peach and grapefruit zest.
Edinburgh Gin’s Elderflower Liqueur is ideal for bringing a summery flavor to classic drinks, adding to sparkling wine or even for use in fruit-based desserts.
It works particularly well with sharper green flavors such as green apple, mint, parsley and even cucumber for refreshing cocktails.
The Elderflower Fizz
•1 oz Edinburgh Gin’s Elderflower LIqueur
•2 1/2 oz Cavicchioli 1928 Prosecco
Build over ice in a highball glass.
•1 oz Edinburgh Gin
•1 oz Edinburgh Gin’s Elderflower Liqueur
•1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
•1/4 oz Soda
Shake and strain over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with lemon twist, mint leaves and fresh elderflowers (when in season).
