Domaine Jacques Prieur - Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018
Overview
Terroir: Domaine Jacques Prieur farms just over a 1/4 acre of Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, which is a sizable share of this heavily fragmented vineyard of just 18 acres. Chevalier-Montrachet sits high on the slope above neighboring vineyards of Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachet. Soils here are rocky and extremely well drained. This is hallowed ground for Chardonnay lovers.
Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested, strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 12-14 hours prior to fermentation. The wine ages for 17 months of in oak barrels deep in the cellars of Domaine Jacques Prieur.
Additional Details
Intense green gold with luminous silver reflections. Precise, refined with slightly toasted notes, evolving with aeration into fresh fruity notes (white peach, apricot). The palate is smooth texture and consistent palate embracing sapidity. Infinite length and very salivating on the finish.Technical Details

"The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is matured in 50% new oak. It has a delightful bouquet of crisp citrus fruit, crushed stone, pressed flowers and hints of lemon curd, wonderfully detailed and as fine as some of the more revered exponents of this grand cru. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, and quite weighty for a Chevalier-Montrachet. The lavish, slightly creamy, orange-pith-tinged finish lingers in the mouth. A delicious Chevalier-Montrachet that should give 20-plus years of drinking pleasure."
