Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne 2018

Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.

Terroir: 1er Cru La Garenne is a 24 acre vineyard high on the slopes of Puligny Montrachet directly above 1er Cru Champ-Gain. Domaine Faiveley farms a small 1/2 acre plot that is located on light, shallow and stony soils.

Vinification: Following a strict sorting the grapes are fermented at low temperatures for a period of 18-20 days followed by aging in the cellars for 14-16 months in a combination of new (2/3’s) and used oak barrels.

Additional Information

The nose is very pleasant and charms with its both subtle and enchanting character. There are citrus, floral and dried fruit aromas. This wine is very full on the palate and strikes a balance between smoothness and liveliness. A harmonious wine with long-lasting aromas and flavors.

"Aromas of Anjou pear, white flowers, fresh peach and warm pastry introduce the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne, a medium to full-bodied ample and enveloping wine, with a textural attack that segues into a core of succulent fruit underpinned by lively acids. This has turned out well."
