Domaine Faiveley - Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gains 2018
Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.

"Stony reduction is suffused with vivid citrus and Mirabelle notes on the nose of this wine. The palate presents citric concentration with drive and freshness. Chalky allure echoes from from afar while zesty lemon freshness gives focus to the flinty notions. Drink 2022–2032."

"The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champgains 1er Cru has a pleasant, slightly minty bouquet that does not quite convey the terroir with the same detail as the 2017. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed opening, certainly one of the richer styles of Puligny and as a consequence, it just misses some tension and mineralité on the finish."

"A fine follow-up to the excellent 2017, Faiveley's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain mingles aromas of crisp orchard fruit and orange oil with nuances of nutmeg and pastry cream in an incipiently complex bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny, it's lively and precise, with a chalky finish."
