Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.
Terroir: Charmes is one of the highest quality 1er Cru vineyards in all of Burgundy. The 76 acre vineyard sits on the south side of the appellation bordered by Meursault 1er Cru Perrières above and Puligny Montrachet 1er Crus Les Referts and Les Combettes to the south. This cuvee is sourced from a 1/2 acre parcel that was planted in 1977
Vinification: Grapes are harvest by hand and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following primary fermentation the young wine is aged for 14-16 months in a combination of 1/3 new and 2/3 used oak barrels.
Additional Information
This wine proves it belongs to the family of finest Burgundy white wines. The nose is complex, letting out delicate floral aromas mixed with a few woody notes. It has long-lasting tastes on the palate and distinguishes itself with a very good balance between fatness and acidity.

Date: Thursday, September 27, 2018"Pale, slightly green-tinged yellow. Captivating aromas of lemon zest, lemon drop and lavender. Very rich and concentrated, with ripe stone fruit and lemon drop flavors complicated by savory minerality. Tactile, spicy and light on its feet, but not as silky or deep as some of the other cru bottlings at this address. Finishes with a hint of raw pineapple and a menthol edge. Faiveley doesn't own this plot but does all the work in the vines; still, the yield here was in the range of 50 to 52 hectoliters per hectare, vs. around 40 in most of the estate holdings in 2017."Grade: 89-92 points
