Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru 2019

Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.

Terroir: The Domaine Faiveley Latricières Chambertin is sourced from a single plot of 2.98 acres from within the southern portion of the overall vineyard. This single terroir runs down the hillside with an ideal eastern exposure and loose well-drained soils of silica (silex or ground stone/sand). Vines date back to 1958.

Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following a short maceration the must undergoes primary fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and wooden vats. The young wines are aged in 70% lightly toasted new oak barrels for 16 to 18 months.

Additional Information

"One of the finest cuvées in the portfolio is once again the 2019 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, deep and layered wine of unerring precision. Vibrant and multidimensional, it evokes aromas of dark berries, rose hip, bergamot, spices and black truffle. This will be worth a special effort to seek out."

"The 2019 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has more cohesion and intensity than the Charmes-Chambertin, presenting lovely brambly red berry fruit mingled with potpourri and light loamy aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, taut and crisp, displaying good depth and an animated chalky, briny finish. Classic in style, this is a superb Latricières from Faiveley, though it will need cellaring."
