Chambolle-Musigny AC 2015

Domaine Faiveley

Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.

Terroir: The Domaine Faiveley Chambolle Musigny AC is sourced from multiple plots throughout the Chambolle Musigny appellation. Soils are stony and rich in limestone and exposures tend to be east/ southeast.

Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following a 18-20 day maceration the must undergoes primary fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and wooden vats followed by blending of the cuvees. The young wines are aged in 30% lightly toasted new oak barrels for 14 to 16 months.

Additional Information

A beautiful, brilliant garnet-red color. The nose is very pretty with woody and fruity notes. The whole is very pleasant. On the palate are grilled and fruity, very ripe cherry aromas. The tannins are present without being too intrusive or aggressive. An elegant wine, fine and pedigreed.

Silky in texture and evoking black cherry, black currant and violet flavors, this red tightens up as it evolves on the palate, leaving a chalky sensation on the finish. The lasting impression is of sweet fruit. Best from 2020 through 2035.

Aromas of blueberries, stones and flowers follow through to a full to medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Bright and beautiful. Love the steely undertone. Drink or hold.
