Cuvaison - Estate Chardonnay 2015
Overview
Terroir: For decades, Cuvaison has made estate grown wines from our renowned vineyard in the cool Los Carneros region of Napa Valley. This unique and expansive vineyard is planted on some of the region’s most coveted land, offering a unique combination of rootstock, clone, soil type and exposure. With 40 years experience farming our estate, our team has developed an intimate block-by-block approach to cultivating this special vineyard, resulting in an amazing palette of fruit for crafting our estate grown wines.Additional Details
In the vineyard: Our Estate Pinot Noir is a carefully crafted blend of wines from 20 distinct blocks in our Los Carneros estate vineyard. Each block is vinified separately, using gentle winemaking techniques such as open top fermentation, gentle punch-downs, basket pressing and French oak aging designed to preserve the wine’s delicacy and freshness. As a blend, the Estate Pinot Noir eloquently expresses the terroir to be found across our Los Carneros estate.Winemaker Notes: “Our 2015 Chardonnay is rife with scents of orange blossom, honeysuckle, lime peel and white peach. On the palate, the wine brims with dense stone fruit, citrus, apricot and a flavorful impression of essential oils. The texture is quite sinewy, with minerality and persistence on the finish..” – Steve Rogstad, Winemaker
