Terroir: One of the three monopole bottlings of Château Fuissé, the vineyard of Les Combettes covers just 4.4 acres within the village of Fuissé. Vines are densely planted in a well drained soil made up primarily of limestone, pebbles and small amounts of clay.
Vinification: The grapes are brought to the state-of-the-art winery where they are sorted and placed in barrel for fermentation. The must rests in the cellars of Château Fuissé for 12 months in used oak barrels (3 to 5 years old). To retain it’s vibrant acidity no new oak is used in this cuvée.
The Les Combettes shows a light yellow color with subtle notes of green. Floral and mineral on the nose, with hints of exotic fruit and ripe apples. On the palate, the attack is full and fresh with aromas of white flowers. Rich on the finish, the wine is fresh, with a crisp minerality and good roundness.
