Terroir: Morgon is one of the 10 crus of Beaujolais. The granite soils of the Les Charmes plateau provide a good and silky structure to this cru Beaujolais, accompanied by delicious flavors of black cherry and kirsch.
Vinification: Grapes are hand-picked and very lightly crushed upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation occurs for a period of about 10 days with daily punching down of the cap to extract additional color, flavor and complexity. Following fermentation, the free run juice is separated and the grapes are pressed, the wine is then reblended. Malolactic fermentation and aging occur in 100% stainless steel.
Sweet, almost candy-like red cherry and kirsch aromas. Fun and fruity on the palate, yet well structured, with open ripe red berry and cherry flavors, racy acidity, and very soft tannins.
