Julienas 2015

Château Fuissé

Terroir: The domaine is set on 7 hillside acres in the heart of Julienas. Vineyards sit with southern exposures and well drained soils of granite, sand and clay.

Vinification: Grapes are hand-picked and very lightly crushed upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation occurs for a period of about 10 days with daily punching down of the cap to extract additional color, flavor and complexity. Following fermentation, the free run juice is separated and the grapes are pressed, the wine is then reblended. Malolactic fermentation and aging occur in 100% stainless steel.

Additional Information

Well structured, yet soft, elegant traditionally styled Juliénas, with delicious flavors of herb, spice and lovely soft fruit.

A rich style of Beaujolais, this wine is ripe with red-cherry flavors and structured with generous tannins. It has a warm feel, juicy while full-bodied and packed with fruit. Drink from 2019.

Lurid ruby. Black raspberry, licorice and candied flowers on the deeply perfumed nose. Appealingly sweet and lively on the palate, showing very good heft and focus to the dark berry and bitter cherry flavors. Becomes sweeter with aeration and picks up a spicy nuance that carries through the very long, floral-tinged finish, which is framed by smooth tannins.

Black cherry, licorice and red plum flavors are fresh and focused in this light- to medium-bodied red, with floral and ground spice accents dovetailing into the long, lightly tannic finish. Drink now through 2020.
