Overview

Since its debut vintage in 2003, Steve Rogstad has guided the winemaking at Brandlin Vineyard, crafting wines that have earned renown for their vineyard-inspired depth and complexity, robust mountain structure and age-worthiness.

Legacy Story:  Henry's Keep is Brandlin's flagship wine, a proprietary red blend comprised of the highest quality grapes from the Brandlin Vineyard. "Henry's Keep" pays homage to the family patriarch, Henry Brandlin, who would "keep" from each vintage a selection of the estates' most exceptional grapes for his family's own bottled wine. Continuing that tradition, the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a small, western- facing block that consistently produces rich and intensely concentrated fruit. Blended with a selection of each vintage's finest Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the result is a compelling and complex wine.

“Coming off a string of cooler vintages, 2013 was a dry, warm, sun-kissed vintage on the slopes of Mount Veeder. A big, opulent red wine, our Henry’s Keep exhibits deep notes of black currants, boysenberry and blackcherry fruit and spiced with coffee, mocha, anise and a hint of camphor. A lush, full-bodied wine, the tannins are round, supple and age-worthy, lending structure and precision to the long finish.” - Steve Rogstad, Winemaker

“This just has more of everything. The juicy fruit notches it up to a glorious level. It has a deep ruby/purple color, loads of blackberry and cassis fruit, juicy licorice and plump medium to full bodied mouthfeel. This is a beauty and quite sexy and lush. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.”
