Folonari Pink Pinot Grigio 2005

Producer Background: The history of Folonari dates from 1825 when Francesco Folonari founded the firm in Valmonica in the Veneto. In the later half of the 19th Century, he and his sons moved to Brescia, establishing one of Italy’s finest winemaking facilities. They pioneered the production and distribution of wine in bottles, thus making it possible for consumers to drink wines of good and consistent quality on an everyday basis. This philosophy continues to guide the firm today as it offers a range of modern wines from the most popular viticultural areas of Italy.

Wine Type: Off-dry Rose

Grape Type: 100% Pinot Grigio.

Country: Italy

Vinified in stainless steel. Among grapes which produce white wines, Pinot Grigio actually has rather dark skin. This  unique rosé is created by allowing skin contact with the fermenting juice, giving the wine its delicate blush color.

Tasting Notes: Light rose color. Fragran nose of flowers and fresh fruit. Soft ripe on the palate, with a nice pop of sweetness.

Food Match: sushi, shellfish, salmon, chicken, Asian cuisine.
