Pouilly Fuisse Cuvèe Marie Antoinette Vincent 2008

France » Burgundy » Maison J. J. Vincent » Pouilly Fuisse Cuvèe Marie Antoinette Vincent 2008

Summary

The JJ Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvèe Marie Antoinette is a tribute to Jean Jacques Vincents mother; Marie Antoinette Vincent. The wine is sourced from several parcels including young vines from the Chateau Fuissé vineyards of Le Clos, Les Brules and Le Combettes as well as several non-domaine yet family owned parcels throughout the appellation.

Cuvèe Marie Antoinette is created with a fresh, youthful profile in mind. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel tank with only about 25% of the total blend seeing any time in oak. The resulting wine is pleasing, refreshing and crisp on the palate

Notes

The wine has white flower aromas and round, fresh, mineral flavors on the palate, with a clean and balanced character. Pairs well with fish, seafood, chicken and goat's milk cheeses. —Jean-Jacques VINCENT.

Blend: Chardonnay: 100%

"A toasty caramel aroma announce a fat, full wine, the fruit lost in all these wood flavors. The aftertaste is honey and vanilla."

Here the nose is a bit riper with light citrus and white orchard fruit aromas cut with acacia blossom hints that complement well the rich, generous and softly mineral suffused middle weight flavors that are supported by firm acidity but I suspect that this will round out pretty quickly.
